The Strategic Pressure Test

Which of your strategic assumptions still hold, and which quietly expired

A strategy rests on assumptions that were rarely revisited. Signals about markets, technology and regulation arrive scattered, without shared interpretation. And the leadership team believes it shares one picture of reality — which usually turns out not to be the case. Until that gap is on the table, every discussion about priorities is about the wrong question.

1

Outside-in

Which trends, competitor moves, regulation and technology shifts actually touch this business model — each one a card with a source and a date.

2

Your own plot

Every member of the leadership team scores five axes separately: market fit, deliverability, technological excellence, societal impact, environmental footprint.

3

The spread

The tool shows where your pictures diverge, and on which axis the gap between self-image and outside-in evidence is widest.

What it delivers

The Pressure Test confronts an outside-in picture with an inside-out self-plot. The outside-in picture comes from sector datasets, regulatory clocks and public competitor signals; the self-plot comes from your own leadership team, each member scoring separately. What you get back is three to five urgent strategic themes with evidence, the maturity picture, the assumptions list with a status per assumption, and a prioritised decision agenda.

How it works

Intake

Sector, business model questions, and your top assumptions in your own words — mapped onto an assumptions taxonomy. 60 to 90 minutes, and you can split it across people.

Outside-in

Sector datasets, regulatory calendars and public competitor signals produce a card per theme, each with its source and date.

The plot round

Every participant scores the five axes and the assumptions separately. Nobody sees anyone else's score until the round closes.

The report

Themes, maturity, assumption status, the spread, and the decision agenda — with the three outcomes and the bridge to the work scan.

What this is not

  • We do not advise. The tool confronts your picture with data and shows the spread. What you decide is yours; there is no recommendation from us in the report.
  • No workshop, no interviews. The plot round is online and asynchronous. A facilitated session exists only as outcome route 2 or 3, with a partner, after our report.
  • Every score carries its source. A theme without a source and a date does not make it into the report. That is what makes it usable in a boardroom.

Three outcomes

Every report ends in three routes. You choose; we deliver the analysis, not the engagement.

1

Do it yourself

A roadmap per theme: concrete steps, who needs to be at the table, which data is still missing, an agenda template for your own strategy day, and the assumption clocks switched on for quarterly reconfirmation.

2

Partly guided

The tool plus a partner on the heavy parts: expert interviews, or a facilitated confrontation session built on our spread analysis. A partner button per item.

3

Outsource it

A full engagement with the partner; the report travels with it as the dossier, with your permission — the partner never starts blank.

The next step

A decision agenda becomes work

Themes turn into tasks, hours and systems. Find out within two weeks what your strategy means for who does what — and which part of it AI can take over.
